Average Completion: - We complete an average of 4 new roofs a month, on time and to budget - With the full range of materials: Small rosemary tiles, slates, all styles of modern concrete tiles, also light weight composite modern tiles. It all starts with the arrangement of scaffold access from a local company, normally installed a few days before our arranged start date. Next we dismantle the existing roof disposing of all waste then we start to install the new one.
Breathable under tile felt First the high GSM breathable under tile felt membrane is installed using stainless steel staples. Then we hand install, traditionally with hammers and stainless steel nails our deep treated roof lattes/batons, (this is what the tiles sit on and that they are nailed too) creating a long lasting strong new roof. The finishing touches are added with no cement, mostly being low maintenance dry fix materials unless the area is traditionally fixed with a cement mortar (example - conservation area).
Once the roof is completed all areas are cleaned down, gutters are inspected for blockages and leaks then the scaffold is arranged to come down. Most average sized roofs take around 6-7 days start to finish. We do this all across Yorkshire.
